Pros and cons of the “Thursday office party"

Pros:-
Getting to leave work early. Whatever the excuse is leaving work early is always a big plus!
Free bar – need I say more?!
…Okay, past the above two points, I’m kinda struggling here.
Cons
Friday morning hangovers...*bleurgh!*  Hangovers should be spent in bed, not at your desk in front of your computer pretending to work and doing anything to get rid of that gnawing feeling in your head.
Ridiculous end of the week meetings.  I’ve somehow developed the ability to nod and smile while tuning out everything that’s being said to me.
Too sick to drink coffee and too tired to stay awake. There’s no winning with this situation.-  Other people who were out with you and seemed as drunk as you were but are somehow absolutely fine on Friday – and they insist on showing this off!
Unlike the above, I actually went back to work still drunk (the hangover slowly and surely in a few hours) and once I found myself almost going to kiss my director (at 8.30am!) I figured it was probably time to go to the loo and have a little sober-up-nap else I was pretty sure I’d be jobless by the end of the day. Official verdict – I detest “Thursday office parties”!

Pros and cons…

…of being employed

Pros
- Money! I know where my next pay cheque is coming from – literally! No more street corners for me... (Just joking!!!)
- Purpose!!!: It’s so nice to wake up in the morning and actually know what I’m going to be doing. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve created random ‘fun’ tasks for myself; which actually end up being not so fun!(Understatement of the year!) A challenge to clean your bathroom in under 10 minutes is NOT fun! It’s torturous and you’ll smell like bleach for the rest of the day.
- No more morning/daytime telly: Thanks goodness!!! I’m such a glutton for punishment when it comes to this. I sit there thinking how awful it is and yet never change the channel and go back for more the next day. I actually go to a point where I ‘enjoyed’ Jeremy Kyle (*hangs head in shame*). I had to stop watching telly for a while when I caught myself QVC for almost an hour!!! (Nothing against QVC but watching it for an hour is a bit much…)
- Sexy Business Outfits: I love getting dressed up for work!!! I always try to over do it... some days 'slutty secretary' (hehehe!) other days 'haute couture'... I imagine I’ll get bored of this pretty soon though but it’s like playing dress up! Love it!!!

Cons
- Lack of sleep: I miss it so much!!! *sobs*
- Coffee: This is like daily punishment for not getting enough sleep! (Why does it have to be so bitter?!) Each sip is torture!
- Eating cold and boring lunches: I can’t binge anymore on pizza and chicken wings (and cheese on toast and huge dollops of creamy pasta and ice cream and sticky toffee pudding – okay you get the point, I’m a binge eater!) I’m sat on my tush all day barely moving or exercising so the pounds are gonna pile on if I don’t watch what I eat. I’m really trying to be good here but it’s so hard – I gave up the other day and binged on a whole Nandos chicken, chips and rice and even had dessert too! I felt so incredibly guilty but at the same time I felt so fantastic from all that good good good food! (It was a very confusing day for me… hehe!)
- Office gossip: I cannot be bothered with this; I won’t spread stuff about other people. I usually won’t listen either – unless it’s really interesting in which case – Dish! Dish!! Dish!!!
- Walking around in heels: Sore feet – nuff said!

Till next time…

Pros/Cons List of having rubbish job and being single in tiny Welsh village (...and living with parents)

Pros :- Lots of spare cash and not a lot to spend the spare cash on. The biggest store we had was a “buy-wise” store and I would not be caught dead in that. Not because I am a snob – au contraire, I’m always up for a bargain and I actually bought two mini shorts from them once upon a time. The first one ripped while I was walking on the beach with Thom. Like properly ass-hanging-out ripped! Thom couldn’t speak for laughing. This should have been my first sign that he wasn’t good for me, twat! Though I’m pretty sure I’d have done exactly the same thing too. I had to walk awkwardly all the way home and change quickly into a pair of jeans. A few days later, I put on the second pair and they lasted all of 30 minutes and ripped as I got onto the bus. What fresh hell was this?! I made my excuses and got off the bus and since then, anytime I see a pair of summer shorts for £2, I steer very clear. Pardon my waffle here but I needed to explain why I refuse to shop in Buy-wise, the pride of my village (more like Buy-stupid!).
As a result of my lack of spending, I had a bit of money saved to potentially help me with my move to London and I called my friend to see what she thought of my plans and by the time I got off the phone an hour later, my mind was made up! I would be moving to London! The only thing I would miss here (asides my family of course) was watching Thom’s bum (oh we had some good times together – the bum and I) but all things considered, I was more than ready to move on. Maybe I will write to the bum… I’ll see if I can convince the bum to leave its owner and move to London with me. Yes, that would be nice! We’d paint the town red, the bum and I…
Oh, I almost forgot – the “Cons”:- actually, you must have figured this out already – rubbish job, girls named “Chelle” and evil mini shorts whose one purpose in life is to embarrass the hell outta ya!
There you go! My pre-London story. Till next time. Take care.
