Time to say goodbye

Right, so I wasn’t sure about this last time I blogged but now it’s been confirmed. My neighbour/sex buddy (for some reason I cringe at the phrase ‘fuck buddy’ – it’s so cliché but there’s no avoiding it). Anyway, I digress – he’s moving back home due to visa issues. He might be back, he might not be – that’s all dependent on the visa.

This news kinda made me ‘re-evaluate’ our relationship as for me, there was no long term plan and hence I use the term relationship very loosely. Every day, you hear stories (or watch a movie) about some girl who had a platonic relationship which eventually becomes a romantic one. I can safely say, this is not the case here. I mean don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely a strong physical attraction there but truth be told, we’re just really good friends. We get along like a house on fire and I could spend hours and hours talking and hanging out with him but there’s no real ‘va-va-voom’.

Maybe I’m just being greedy or have unrealistic expectations but I really want excitement! The most excitement I’ve had lately is having too many cups of coffee and practically bouncing off the walls from my caffeine high. And I totally understand that the excitement might wane after several years of being together but I definitely think it makes for the start of a fantastic relationship.

Last month was fairly busy on the work front so I didn’t get to do much social stuff but I’ve got lots planned this month! I plan on going a little crazy and giving my liver a good work out! Hahaha!!!

Also, I think I have been signed up to do a charity skydive! I vaguely remember slurring out my consent at work drinks on Thursday. Funny how ideas seem so much better when you’re drunk. *shakes head* I’m terrified of heights but then again, I am looking to try new things and push my boundaries (and it is for a good cause)... I’m so conflicted!!! *sigh*

Anyway, back to my original point – he’s leaving! And it’s okay. I’m absolutely fine about it. We had a great time and I’ll miss hanging out with him but I’m definitely not heart- broken! All in all, it was a great summer distraction!

Love, Life and Amsterdam

Guess it’s about time I finally gave you guys an update on my neighbour/love-life situation, eh? (See last post here). It’s been so hectic at work lately and I’m ashamed to say this but asides the occasional meet up for food/drinks/sex/whatever, there’s not been much on that front. Totally my fault (or rather, my choice) - I’ve been so busy with work and I’m finally getting to travel lots with my job and as a result I’ve not had as much chance to actually commit properly to anything. He’s been pretty awesome though and I have a great time with him but there’s nothing ‘major’ happening there apart from both of us having a good time together – whenever I can fit that it (Hahaha! That makes me sound like such a self-important diva! I’m not! I swear!)

Also as you all might have noticed, I tend to be a typically happy-go-lucky kinda girl however I have just gotta gripe about a little pet hate I discovered this weekend - Overly confident drunk guys… lol! (keyword there being ‘drunk’!). So, I was out with work colleagues and after my experience the previous week (see post here), I figured I’d best stick to one drink and then grab some dinner. No workday hangovers for me, no sireee! So not worth the headache… literally! Anyway, seeing as there was no way one cocktail was gonna get me drunk, I was pretty sober and as a result, pretty observant that evening. Side note - my body has become so tolerant to alcohol which is pretty bad news for my purse methinks! I digress… At the first bar, there was a barmaid who was flirty with one of the guys on my team - she gave him a free pint and all. Everyone noticed and he got her number before we left –This moment was the creation of a monster! For the rest of the night he kept trying to chat up every single lady who served us (even in the restaurant) it was so unbelievably funny watching the uncomfortable waitresses squirming and trying to be polite while doing their best to get away. Worst thing was he was so drunk he didn’t seem to pick up on the fact that he was a one-hit wonder (and that one-hit had little to do with his ‘pick-up’ skills – the waitress went out of her way to get his attention). I know I’m not one to judge as I like a drink or two myself (make that ten... or twenty, hehehe!) but his oblivion to his faux pax was hilarious! This is definitely a pet-hate I can handle.

In other news though, I did get to go to Amsterdam this week. I loved every minute of it! Apparently, I get to go to other cities as well as part of the project I’m working on – can’t wait! I officially love my job!!! In usual tradition, I took a few photos…
Finished it off with some fantastic sea-food! Deeeeeeee-lish!

These are a few of my favourite things... Another installment!

This has been a truly indulgent weekend! I’ve been making the most of the bank holidays by being really lazy and so I figured I’d put together a list of the things I’m currently obsessing over. Okay, maybe obsessing is a tad too serious but you get the general idea…
1.) iMac – I’m an ‘Apple-head’. I’m pretty happy with my MacBook Pro but since using one of these at my friend’s the other day, I’ve been crazy about it! I’d have to get the largest one ever and rationalise this purchase by claiming that its both a computer (a powerful one at that) and a TV. See, I’m thinking ahead! Okay, that is some poor rationalisation but I think I deserve this. I now have to spend some time thinking of reasons why I deserve this... *scratches head*
2.) Hanging Chairs – I mean look at them! I could so see my bum permanently glued to them… Someone please buy me one! :-)
3.) Love tub – Discovered these at Waitrose recently. One word – AMAZING!
4.) Big Dorset Louboutins – like I was really gonna do a favourite things posts without shoes! lol! (Apologies, I’ve been going through a Louboutin phase for the last couple of months)
5.) Easy A – I love this movie. Emma Stone is amazingly funny in it! Just got the DVD and I’ve spent the best part of a week LOL-ing at it. *sings* “I’ve got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine…”
6.) Nerds – Just in case I never mentioned it before – I’ve got a major sweet tooth! And with the rainbow of colours…er… SOLD! This is how my love of colour manifests itself – not, in creative interior decoration or fashion (or something useful!), Oh no, just in my sweet tooth indulgence! *shakes head*
7.) Joe Manganiello a.k.a Alcide Herveaux from True Blood – D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! Is Sookie blind or something?! LOL! Okay, the other two are great in their own way but Joe is my 100% beefcake! Yum!!!
8.) Denim short shorts – This is probably my way of refusing to acknowledge that summer will over soon. I don’t want it to end. *sobs* I’m never letting go!
9.) Shunt – I’ve been obsessing about this because I miss it! When I used to go it was in this amazing hidden location smack in the centre of London – a dis-used underground station near London Bridge. They had everything there - airplane seats, a Wii room, art installation rooms, salsa room, empty rooms, light pianos, live bands. So many tiny little nooks and crannies everywhere. Such an arty and amazing night out. Loved it. BRING IT BACK!
10.) Borough Market – You can get almost anything here. I love that about it. I love browsing at Borough market – most times because browsing usually ends up leading to unexpected purchases!

That’s it! I’ve got so much to tell you guys by the way, which I fully intend on doing very soon! So much has happened and I can’t wait to share it!!! Till next time...

I'm on cloud 9

Okay, so the other day, I was dossing around in the flat and there wasn’t anything interesting on telly so I figured I’d go for a run – Haha! Who am I kidding? I went for a walk!  I admire people who actually go for runs but the only times in my life I ever remember running was either towards food or away from a place where I’d actually have to do any proper running (e.g. the gym!). In fairness to myself though, when I go for walks I can walk for long stretches without even breaking a sweat and so I feel like I’ve found some balance there.

Anyway, on my way out of the flat who should I bump into but my sexy neighbour (see post here). In the past few weeks we’d bumped into each other a few times and had little chats, I’d been to his house warming party, bla bla bla…and so we were ‘kinda’ friends now. Anyway, I did the neighbourly thing and said hi and we got chatting and long story short, he decided to come out for a walk with me.

We got chatting about life, work, friends and pretty much anything and everything and it felt so good to talk to him. He’s so easy to speak to and has such a great laugh that makes you feel comfortable straight away… anyway, we stopped for a little rest on a park bench and I carried on yapping away about some story I read in the newspaper that afternoon and he leaned in and kissed me. I can talk (A LOT!) but I was short for words and I was initially gonna resist and push back (in a ‘I’m-not-that-kinda-girl’ way) but I just let go…. I think if anyone else told me about this, I would have thought “Cheeeeeeesy!!!!!!” but when it happens to you, especially with someone you really really really really fancy, the reality of the situation is sooooooooo much better than you can imagine…

... I could go on and on and write about that kiss and how it felt but anyone who’s ever been kissed by the right person knows exactly how that feels!!! When we finally came up for air, I pretty much knew what was going to happen next. I won’t bore you with the mundane details but we hurried back to his place and headed straight for the bedroom, I practically ripped his clothes off him and we went right for it! And damn, did it feel so good! Best-sex-ever! We went really fast the first time, no time for all the extra crap before and then the 2nd time, we took it slower and explored each other’s bodies... I imagined the ‘law of diminishing marginal returns' would set in here (Google it, I feel to lazy to explain it here...lol) but it soooooo did not and felt so good. I’d go into graphic details here but I don’t wanna scare anybody off! Hehehe!!! The third time was fantastic too (yes, three times in one night! That’s a record for me!)

The next morning, we got up and had breakfast, talked some more (thankfully, I didn’t have to be in work as I’d chosen to work from home) and arranged to have dinner and get to know each other better... I’m definitely in lust right now… Can’t wait! I have no expectations, I’m just having fun and boy does it feel fantastic!!!

Smack!

I’m such a trouble maker. I left work on Friday a little giddy with excitement as the fr**king weekend was about to get started and I got free tickets to go see Bruno Mars. I was on such a high and practically skipped through the underground on my way home (with a mandatory stop halfway through for a little robot dance). Anyway, I got off at one of my stop and was walking past the train when I noticed a hot guy squeezing into the end of the carriage. The trains were pretty cramped and as he squeezed in, I noticed how hot he was and I ran over quickly and smacked his bum! It took a second to realise what I’d done and thankfully, the doors had started to shut by the time he realised what just happened. He looked at me, a little shocked, and understandably so and I winked and smiled. He quickly figured out what had happened and smiled at me and winked back. (Phew!!!What the hell is wrong with me? FYI, the full scope of what I had just done dawned on me about 5 minutes later...) Note to self: Don’t smack random strangers on the train, unless they’re cute in which case smack away and stick around to get their number!

Three Strikes!

Okay, so based on everyone’s advise (thanks people! xxxxx) I finally decided to go over and introduce myself to the hot Aussie that just moved in next door (see here). Before this though, my flat mate (and lovely friend – I’m contractually obliged to add that second bit … hehe!) upon arriving back from work promptly cracked opened a bottle of wine (I swear that girl’s an alcoholic!). Of course, I couldn’t leave her to drink alone and no, it’s not what you think, we just had a couple of glasses with a nice creamy pasta, chicken and pancetta dish… (Yum!). After dinner, I summed up the courage to go say hello (I have to admit the wine helped too).
Despite the advise of some fantastic people on this blog, I’m afraid to say I did not go armed with food of any kind. I figured I wouldn’t eat anything a stranger brought to my house so why expect the same from him? In retrospect, that was mostly my laziness talking as I probably could have gone over with some wine or something. Anyway, I digress, just before I got to his, I undid a top button of my top. Not so that everything was all hanging out but enough to look casual and yet inviting …I hope! Figured it’s about time the ‘fun-bags’ earned their keep. (Yes, that’s what I’m calling them now). I knocked on the door four times (harder with each time) and after a few moments and some shuffling sounds, the door opened and there he stood - tall, tanned, blond and with the bluest eyes I’d ever seen (…or were they green, who cares? He’s hot! And the light wasn’t the brightest in that hallway…). He said hello and I introduced myself as a neighbour and said I’d just come round to say ‘hi and welcome’…(bla bla bla) and as I was about to go on about what a nice building this was (dull, I know but I was running out of things to talk about)….what should come out of my mouth but a garlicky burp. OH – DEAR – GOODNESS! First thing I thought was “I hope he doesn’t smell it” and then I thought, “Even if he doesn’t smell it; he heard it! The effect would be exactly the same!” (Strike 1!)
I have no one else to blame but myself here. I’d been feeling the need to burp before I got to his (you know the feeling, when it’s kinda just lingering but not ready to come out) but I was so preoccupied with thinking of what to say I’d ignored it. I was so embarrassed but he laughed (phew!) and I followed suit and panic laughed too. It was shrill and I must have sounded like a deranged hyena! (Strike 2!! C’mon girl!!!)… I didn’t even recognize my own voice. Even more embarrassed, I carried on and was rewarded with the details on him. Name -Jim, moved to London 3 years ago, lives with a friend from New Zealand – where he’s apparently from (Hey, I never said I was good at accent, those two accents sound similar enough to me. Thank goodness, I hadn’t said anything to him about my “Australian Assumption”), he works in a leisure centre as a ‘something-something-something manager’. Okay by this point I’d kinda glazed over. He has the most fantastic pair of lips and perfect teeth to match – I’d actually started to fantasize about those lips and what they could do…..Mmmm… “Oh, well it was nice meeting you” He said, quickly pulling me (kicking and screaming) back to reality “You too!” I said. “Don’t be a stranger and pop over and say hi or come for lunch or something!” (“Easy Tiger!” I thought, subtlety was the name of the game, not verbal-diarrhea). With that I shook his hand and did a weird mix of a bow and a courtesy… (Dear goodness! Someone get me the hell outta here! Strike 3!!!)
On reflection, I don’t think that was too bad… Or was it? (What do you think?) I’m still not 100% sure. Thankfully, I have a bit of a distraction from that this weekend. My cousin’s getting married and we’re whisking her off to Paris for her hen night! Whoop Whoop! That’s one of the joys of living in London – cheap holidays to Europe! I need a break (from myself!)… Gotta dash now… Speak later.

Hottie Alert!!! Help needed!

Okay, a new guy just moved in next door and from what I’ve seen so far, he has the body of a god! He’s Australian… (gotta love the accent) and I’ve been running to the door all evening to peep through the keyhole (desperate much?!) whenever I hear him outside. I think he’s done with his moving in and finally settled for the night but he’s managed to unsettle me! Wish I could put up a picture up to show you… (Sorry people but I can't. I'm preeeeeetty sure that would be borderline stalking...) Dear goodness, he’s delicious. Okay people, I’m gonna have to figure out a subtle way of introducing myself  and I’m usually rubbish at stuff like this! Help needed please!!!! Please send ideas my way! (Please leave a comment below...) What should I do?!
